Board pegs and T-pins: choose the tool for the surface
Understand the difference between blocking-board pegs and T-pins before choosing crochet finishing tools.
Start with the surface
A board peg and a T-pin solve different positioning problems. Choosing by the name ‘blocking pin’ alone can lead to the wrong tool. First check whether your surface has holes intended for positioning pegs or is designed to accept sharp pins.
For a fixed board, use the included accessories according to the supplier’s instructions. Check that the peg diameter and hole spacing suit the board. A photograph cannot confirm the fit of an alternative accessory.
What the listed tools include
The 25.4 cm bamboo board listing includes ten iron pegs, each 100 mm long, and five needles. Its outside dimensions are not a measurement of the usable blocking area.
The separate T-pin listing contains 200 nickel-plated steel pins per box, approximately 27 mm long. These are a separate pinning tool; the listing does not establish that they replace the board’s iron pegs.
Check the method before pinning
Choose a finishing method from your yarn’s care instructions and test it on a small swatch. Then check the surface and metal parts for compatibility with that method. Neither a metal color nor a general supplier claim is a substitute for wet-use testing.
Keep sharp tools in suitable storage and handle points carefully. Our first collection is awaiting sample checks. We have not confirmed usable areas, alternative-peg compatibility or corrosion performance.
